Lapee is the female urinal for outdoor events.
Lapee was founded to improve gender equality by giving womxn the right to pee efficiently in a secure and clean environment.
As one has certainly noticed, when it comes to pee, festivals or any outdoor events, are usually under equipped for womxn. At least, that’s what the founders of Lapee have experienced, who over time, observed how nightmarish this situation for womxn becomes when toilets get pressured. Womxn usually face the dilemma of getting in an insanely long queue or, an improvised, unsafe, unhygienic and degrading backup plan commonly known as « hiding behind the bushes ». With Lapee, womxn can finally focus on the event, experience the concert and stay together with their friends. Behind this idea of developing womxn safety are Gina (FR) and Alexander (DK), two architects who graduated in Copenhagen in Spring 2017.
They had started working together early on, both at COBE architecture office and as architects and area planners for Roskilde Festival, DK. There, both observed the need to provide an efficient, secure and hygienic place for womxn to pee.
This vision came to the founding of their company, Lapee. Answering womxn needs, Lapee is the first female version of the popular gray urinal called « rocket » or « tulip » which is internationally distributed. The female urinal is designed to be distributed to toilet rental companies which rent them to events. Lapee guarantees a simple use: made in the same manufacturing process, the urinals are transported, maintained and cleaned in the same way as the existing portable toilets and urinals. The company was founded on values. Gender equality and sustainability are the core values that have driven the founders to create the product. Lapee is very durable, 100% recyclable and water saving. Furthemore, the product is stackable in order to save carbon emissions from transportation. Finally, the pee can be reused into fertilizer (to grow beer again!).
